First time photography bubble tea

August 4, 2013

1-3pm

Today I did a photoshoot for a grand opening bubble tea store located at Astoria.

It was my first time to photography bubble tea. Even though I have done many food photoshoot already. I find I still learn something new this time.

It was an on location photoshoot. The set up was pretty straight forward. Two lighst with softbox on each side, and one light behind the white background shoot through.

The goal is to create background that is easy to mask out later in photoshop. Client wants to use it for poster kind thing. These photo below have undergo retouch already.

It looks fine after masking.  But I personally feel food on white background look a bit boring. Well, that is client want.

However what can be improved about this photoshoot is the styling indeed. I searched how the bubble tea looks like on other brand’s website later. I find they put a lot bubble on top. I know that is not how we got served. but this looks a lot better. A lot more impact. Also it is better to tilt the angle a bit down. We want to see the bubble more clearly.

A few more photo I did. That is the ingredients they put inside the tea.

The other day, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive
a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad
is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely
off topic but I had to share it with someone!
